This section
describes how to configure the sound on the host PC
side.
Wiring for a host
PC:
Connect a transceiver's DATA terminal
and a sound card to a PC by referring to Host
in "Wiring" section.
Checking
and adjusting the voice transmitted from a transceiver:
Click "Start" > "Setting" > "Control Panel" >
"Sound and multimedia" and click the audio tab. Click "Volume" in the
"Sound Recording" frame, so that the "Volume control" window appears.
Check that "Select" checkbox of microphone is checked. (You can replace
the SPK terminal by Line in terminal.)
- Confirm that the Mute function is not checked in
the microphone checkbox and the volume level is set to appropriate
larger than the 0% level.
- Temporarily connect the PC speaker to the SPK
terminal of the sound card and tune the transceiver to receive. The PC
speaker emits the voice received in the transceiver. If the volume is
too loud or too small, the user must adjust the volume.
- After adjusting the volume, check the "Mute"
checkbox in the "Volume control" window to confirm that the Mic is
muted.
- Disconnect the PC speaker, which is temporarily
connected, and replace wires to original position.
Checking and adjusting the voice
transmitted from a remote PC:

"Volume control" window appears.
- Confirm that "Mute" function is not checked in the
WAVE and volume control checkboxes and set the sliding bar to the
appropriate levels at around 50%.
- Temporarily connect the PC speaker to the SPK
terminal of the sound card, and the PC speaker emits the voice received
in the transceiver. The user must adjust the volume if it is too loud or
too small.
- Disconnect the PC speaker, which is temporarily
connected, and replace wires to original position.
